About the album

Super Falling Star were a Melbourne atmospheric indie pop band formed in 1993 who released four 7" singles between 1996-2000, including a split single with US space rock icons Füxa. All their recordings were produced by Andrew Withycombe of The Cat's Miaow and their first three singles were released by related Michigan labels Quiddity and Drive In, who released many of the early Cat's Miaow releases.

Super Falling Star went through several lineup changes, the only constant being guitarist/songwriter Ian Finlay. Drummer and singer Julia Caluzzi played on all the singles including their final release, 2000's Dead Letters on UK label Roisin. Other members who passed through the ranks include original guitarist Rod McQueen,  original singer/bassist Vicki Barker, vocalists Natasha Dragun, drummer/vocalist Emily Fullerton, and bassists Andrew Withycombe and James Dean.

This release compiles all the band's recordings, including a cover of Love Is Blue from Japanese label Clover Records' 1998 four band 7" release Melbourne Holiday. There are also several previously unreleased tracks, most notable among them a gorgeous cover of The Cat's Miaow's Fire Damage recorded by the last lineup of the band for a tribute album that never came out.
