Totally Mild release new piano ballad Lucky Stars

Lush Melbourne pop quartet Totally Mild have just released Lucky Stars, the second single from upcoming second album Her. After the elegant, kinetic guitar pop of first single Today Tonight (which topped the AMRAP charts and earned raves from Brooklyn Vegan, Clash Magazine and the Herald Sun), Lucky Stars is stripped-back and strikingly beautiful.

The song was premiered overnight on US site Under The Radar, who called it “an unassuming piano ballad of poignant¬†truth.”

Although Lucky Stars sounds like an unabashedly personal love song, Totally Mild bandleader Elizabeth Mitchell reveals the truth is not so simple.

Lucky Stars is a love song to a band,” she says. “It’s about being thankful for the good things in an uncertain situation.”

Second album Her is out on 23 Feb 2018 on vinyl LP, CD and digital. You can stream/download Lucky Stars (or previous single Today Tonight) now from the Chapter webstore and Bandcamp, or from tomorrow via all good digital stores.

Totally Mild play Chapter Music’s 25th birthday/Xmas party at the Tote Hotel on Saturday December 16, with The Stevens and more. Tickets here.
