Heat Beat pioneers NO ZU have existed in one form or another since 2007. They released first album Life in 2012, but have really shifted into high gear of late. They contributed the standout track Raw Vis Vision to Cut Copy’s defini- tive 2014 Melbourne dance compilation Oceans Apart, and instigated an ongoing collaboration with NYC punk-funk icon Sal P (Liquid Liquid), including a fearsome festival set for Sugar Mountain.
Chapter Music released NO ZU's second album Afterlife in 2016. The album earned raves on Pitchfork, The Vinyl Factory, Test Pressing and elsewhere, and took the band to Europe (twice), as well as Australian festivals such as Golden Plains, Mona Foma, WOMAD, Fremantle Festival and many more.
