Melbourne exploratory art-synth performer Pikelet returns with album-length recording Tronc, released by Chapter Music on cassette and digital.
Over the years Pikelet has gone through numerous permutations, all centred around the indomitable Evelyn Morris, now recognised as one of the most adventurous and compelling voices in Melbourne music.
She is also one of the founders of feminist music collective Listen.
Tronc follows on from full-band efforts Calluses (2013) and Stem (2010) but sees a return to the solo format of early Pikelet recordings, with each of the tape’s eight songs recorded and performed by Evelyn at home.
Things haven’t exactly come full circle however – as Evelyn says, Tronc features “weirder pop than ever before.”
