The end of the year is upon us, and Chapter Music has had a veritable big one, with 11 albums to be released this year, and one lone EP.
Released tomorrow, Friday November 1, the final records to make up our big 12 for 2013 are debut albums by two very different groups, of very different ages.
Young scratchy pop foursome The Stevens (featuring Twerps drummer Alex Macfarlane and Boomgates member Gus Lord on bass) release A History Of Hygiene, an impressionist whirlwind of song fragments and frenetic anxiety-pop classics, sequenced almost without pause in a heady 24 song, 44 minute rush.
Meanwhile synth punk pioneers Primitive Calculators release their debut studio album The World Is Fucked, only 35 years into their long and ferocious career.
Pulling no punches across its nine one-word songs, The World Is Fucked is the ultimate aural statement of ageing, despair and futility. Surprisingly, it’s really fun to listen to!
The Stevens are also excited to announce details for their Melbourne album launch, with interstate launch details to follow shortly.
