NO ZU sign to Chapter + release new single!

Check out the premiere of Ui Yia Uia on Test Pressing!

Chapter Music is excited to announce it has signed Melbourne’s unstoppable Heat Beat pioneers NO ZU. Chapter will release NO ZU’s second album Afterlife on vinyl and digital in early 2016.

The band have existed since 2007, and released first album Life in 2012, but have really shifted into high gear of late. They contributed standout track Raw Vis Vision to Cut Copy’s definitive Melbourne dance compilation Oceans Apart, and instigated an ongoing collaboration with NYC punk-funk icon Sal P (Liquid Liquid), including a fearsome festival set for Sugar Mountain.

First evidence of the Chapter/NO ZU partnership is the single Ui Yia Uia (pronounced “Yi Yah Yah”), as premiered on Test Pressing overnight. The track is full of bombastic horns, deep otherworldly vocals, percussive hedonism and the chanted joy of vocalists Becky Freeman (Sui Zhen) and Daphne Camf. The slow groove and silky triple-X-beat, over a narrative of lovers yearning to escape reality for the other side, makes Ui Yia Uia feel not safe for work…just pleasure.

Ui Yia Uia is out digitally now via the Chapter webstore and Bandcamp. It will hit iTunes, Spotify and all other digital outlets this Friday!
