New Chapter artist Gregor experiences Remorse via Stereogum

Chapter has just signed 22 year old Melbourne unique talent Gregor, and Stereogum has premiered the track Remorse from his upcoming cassette Thoughts & Faults check it out here.

Thoughts & Faults is a collection of 14 inquisitive, eccentric home recordings, which range from brief song sketches to a 7 minute, three-part instrumental opus. There are echoes of Durutti Column or Talking Heads, but Gregor has a voice all his own – gentle, wide-eyed and slyly humorous.

About the track Remorse, Gregor has this to say:

“Remorse is used all the time in murder cases; ie. ‘the cold blooded serial killer showed no signs of remorse.’ For me, remorse isn’t a sentiment we should distance ourselves from. I am full of remorse. Whether for uploading an uninteresting photo to Instagram, or being too honest with someone about my feelings, or for agreeing to the photo being used for this premiere, it’s all the same.”

Remorse was recorded at home by Gregor, and features backing vocals from Elyse Beer.

Thoughts & Faults is out on limited edition cassette and digital on Friday April 8 via Chapter Music.

You can get Remorse as a free download from the Chapter webstore or Bandcamp.
